Brisbane is Australia’s third-largest city and is home to nearly two and a half million culturally diverse people. Brisbane’s reputation as an international events capital has been recognised with Brisbane being elected as Host City for the 2032 Olympic and Paralympic Games. The city has an extensive music, sporting and cultural events calendar that make the most of the year-round temperate climate. Clustered in its South Bank cultural precinct are the Queensland Museum and Sciencentre, with noted interactive exhibitions. Another South Bank cultural institution is Queensland Gallery of Modern Art, among Australia's major contemporary art museums. Looming over the city is Mt. Coot-tha, site of Brisbane Botanic Gardens. |
